Common Sense Prosecution
Evidence-Based. Experienced.
As an experienced prosecutor, Erin knows that politics has no place in prosecution. Prosecutorial discretion and judgment should not be wielded to support or combat a political party. A prosecutor's duty is to ensure the constitution is upheld, the rights of both victims and defendants are protected, all individuals involved in the court system are treated fairly, and outcomes which promote public safety and the well being of the community are achieved.

Gun Violence
Keep Our Community Safe.
As both a prosecutor and a parent, Erin is aware of the increase in gun violence in our community, especially involving youth and domestic violence. Erin supports the ownership of firearms by law-abiding citizens, but also advocates aggressively for utilizing common sense gun reforms such as substantial risk orders to keep guns out of the hands of those who pose a danger to our community. As Commonwealth's Attorney, Erin would utilize the laws in place, aggressively prosecute gun violence, and support common sense reform.

Domestic Violence
Stand Against Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse.
Having worked with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse throughout her career, Erin recognizes that these victims and cases require prosecutors who are empathetic, experienced, and aggressive. Survivors in our community should have an open door with the Commonwealth's Attorney and deserve their voice to be heard. Erin has proven qualifications for this role as the winner of the 2022 Duvall Award given to one Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court prosecutor annually as well as a 2020 Unsung Hero Award given by the Virginia Attorney General's Office to recognize empathetic work with victims of violence.

Mental Health and Addiction
Treatment and Hope for Nonviolent Criminals.
While Erin believes in prosecuting violent crime aggressively, she also recognizes that a large amount of nonviolent crime is committed by those in our community who are struggling with mental health or addiction issues. Community safety and well-being in those cases is accomplished by rehabilitation and recovery which allows the offenders to reintegrate into the community in a healthy, productive way. An experienced prosecutor looks at the totality of the circumstances in a case and fashions an outcome which furthers community safety. As a team member of both the Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Adult Drug Court and Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Juvenile Drug Court, Erin supports recovery efforts and services in our community and hopes to build bridges between the Commonwealth's Attorney and those organizations in a way that is beneficial to Chesterfield citizens.
