Former Chief Deputy, Kenneth Nickels, Endorses Erin Barr

Full Statement:

It is my honor to endorse Erin Barr to be the next Commonwealth’s Attorney for Chesterfield County. I was a prosecutor for thirty-eight years having worked in four jurisdictions and serving five different Commonwealth's Attorneys. While working with Erin I personally observed the dedication Erin has to public service. She has always sought justice and has served with integrity.

Erin Barr has always maintained a strong working relationship with law enforcement and has been recognized publicly for her service. Protecting victims of crime has been paramount in her career. Erin has received the highest statewide award for prosecutors serving Juvenile and Domestic Relations courts.

The Eleventh Circuit Court judges recognized her abilities to run a Commonwealth Attorney’s office by appointing her to be the acting Commonwealth’s Attorney for one of the counties in their jurisdiction. Finally, Chesterfield County deserves a strong capable prosecutor to serve the citizens.

The incumbent has lost the faith of law enforcement, has been admonished in a judicial opinion, and reprimanded by the Virginia State Bar for unethical behavior.

The good people of Chesterfield County deserve better, and Erin Barr should be the next Commonwealth’s Attorney.
